Description
The Analyst's Academy is a series of trainings for the analysts employed in government administration institutions. The aim of the project is to raise the level of human resources qualifications in effective law creation. It has been realised within the framework of the “Strengthening the potential of government administration” project, co-financed from the European Union funds within the European Social Fund. 115 employees of government administration offices took part in the training, the focus of which was widely understood data analysis and synthesis as well as the Impact Assesment issue.
The following UW institutions were involved in the project:
- Centrum Otwartej i Multimedialnej Edukacji - Centre for Open and Multimedia Education (COME UW), which is responsible for e-learning at UW using an original and effective method of e-course design and teaching. COME also specializes in the coordination of educational projects, covering among others in-class trainings in e.g. data analysis (Warsaw School of Data Analysis - as an operator), and is in charge of the MS Excel application in statistical data analysis part of the training.
- Centrum Europejskich Studiów Regionalnych i Lokalnych - Centre for European Regional and Local Studies, University of Warsaw (EUROREG), which is an interdisciplinary research and didactic centre, specializing in regional politics and local government strategies. EUROREG offers four-semester M.A. studies in Spatial Economy and also conducts exclusive postgraduate courses for civil servants responsible for implementation of development policies: Academy of Regional Development and Academy of Evaluation. It cooperates with UNESCO Chair Of Sustainable Development and the Polish Section of Regional Studies Association. In the Analyst's Academy, EUROREG is in charge of the social studies theory, interventions, public policies based on evidence as well as cost-benefit analysis.
- Interdyscyplinarne Centrum Modelowania Matematycznego i Komputerowego - Interdisciplinary Centre for Mathematical and Computational Modelling (ICM UW), which provides the Polish scienticfic community with computer hardware and software as well as technical and programming support in large-scale computations. ICM conducts reasearch in mathematical and natural sciences, engineering, medicine, economics and sociology. In the Analyst's Academy, ICM takes care of the R program statistical and econometric application.
