DESCRIPTION

The Warsaw School of Data Analysis is a transnational project implemented by the University of Warsaw and the Interuniversity Center for Social Science Theory and Methodology (the Netherlands). The main objective of the project is to raise the level of competence of PhD students and individuals outside the academic community in the field of data analysis by the development and implementation of an interdisciplinary, English-language training cycle, in cooperation with foreign partners and with the participation of employers, and by the involvement of distance education methods and techniques.

Within WSAD the participants are offered:

  • participation in an e-learning compensatory/introductory course that enables to gain or consolidate skills in statistics (for PhD students),
  • participation in a two-week summer school focused on data analysis workshops and lectures lead by experts in the field (for PhD students and participants outside of the academic community),
  • cooperation with experts, which aims to result the scientific papers working out to be published in reputable scientific journals (University of Warsaw PhD students).

Participation in the WSAD project is fully free of charge and the University of Warsaw PhD students might be additionally granted by the ECTS. Classes will be held in English, so that participants will have the opportunity to learn specialist terminology which is crucial for the international scientific cooperation.
