The seminar "Ukraine - Poland. New Gaze" in Kiev was held on the 8th and 9th of December 2017 - thanks to the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and other partners. The seminar Ukraine - Poland. New Gaze was the first stage of the project of an interactive documentary platform meant to present - in multi-layered and broad thematic terms acknowledging different points of view - the history of Polish-Ukrainian relations and the problems of contemporary relations between both societies. Two interactive documentary films will constitute a significant part of the platform. The films will use newly recorded materials and archival footage as well as integral original works. They will be made by students and young graduates of film schools and media faculties from both countries, selected in a contest.
The following speakers presented their ideas during the seminar: dr hab. Krzysztof Kopczyński (Eureka Media, Institute of Applied Polish Studies of the University of Warsaw) and dr Bartłomiej Michałowicz (Centre for Open and Multimedia Learning of the University of Warsaw). Gennady Kofman was the leading consultant (programming director of the Documentary Film Festival on Human Rights Docudays UA in Kiev).
