"Closer to the labor market" project: „Plan with passion” contest

The competition "Strategic key to the Mazovian labor market" PLAN WITH PASSION! is ongoing. It is organized by the Education Department of the of the Capital City of Warsaw Municipal Office and the Center for Professional Development, operating at the Warsaw Center for Educational and Social Innovation and Training. It is addressed to students and coordinators of the Information and Career Points taking part in the "Closer to the labor market - Integrated Educational and Professional Counseling System ZIT WOF" project. The aim of the contest is to support students in self-discovery and awareness of the role of interest and passion in planning the educational and professional path.

Students' task, within the competition, is to prepare a short film encouraging to planning the future and the career. First films have been already posted at CKC UW educational on-line platform. Additionally, the competition teams have to fill the knowledge test in the field of career counseling. The winners of the contest will take part in excursions (study visits) to reputable companies and institutions operating in the strategic economic areas for the Mazovin vovidship, such as: information and communication technologies (ICT), creative industry, chemical industry, renewable energy sources (RES).

In the next two weeks teachers involved into the project will continue the next semester of the postgraduate studies in the field of vocational counseling at the University of Warsaw. Whereas, on the CKC UW educational platform, prepared for the needs of the project, there is a special smartphone application available, called "Gymnasium POWER SIMULATOR", which enables quick estimation of the total number of points obtained by the graduate from middle school examinations. The calculator includes all components, such as grades on the certificate, or volunteering and participation in competitions. The result of the calculation gives an overview of the chances of qualifying for a selected school in relation to the last year's recruitment in the Electronic Recruitment System.
