A new project has been launched at the University of Warsaw, which will reach all academic teachers, B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. students, candidates to study, participants of the courses run by UW and also senior high schools of the Mazovian Voivodship.

The "e-UW - the development of UW e-services in education" project is the outcome of the cooperation between COME UW and the Faculties of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics and the Faculty of Management. The project will provide 10 e-services:

  • the e-recruitment of the candidates to study at the UW via an IT system
  • the recruitment of of the candidates to study at the UW within a cloud
  • a mobile USOSweb app for UW students and staff
  • online application forms for dorms, rector's scholarships and social assistance
  • the recruitment system supporting student and staff mobility
  • e-portfolio for students
  • a video-conference and webinar system in e-learning
  • an educational e-learning platform supporting the cooperation of UW with senior high schools
  • e-library
  • online computer labs

COME UW is the project coordinator and takes responsibility for e-learning tasks and activities.

The E-portfolio, being one of the e-services introduced, will help UW students and staff follow and record the development of their competences through e.g. updating the information about their academic and professional achievements. It will also allow to trace the UW graduates' careers.

The KAMPUS e-learning platform will also be developed. It will be enriched by video-conference and webinar tools which will allow for synchronous communication (the e-classes take place within the same time limit, but in different places), making simultaneous groupwork and discussions with the e-teacher possible.

A brand new platform will be provided, bridging UW and with senior high schools in the Mazovia District. Classes under the patronage of a chosen UW faculty will get access to interesting materials popularizing science and e-learning implemented in the e-classes run by various UW academic teachers.

The "e-UW - the development of UW e-services in education" project is co-financed from the Regional Operational Programme of the Mazovian Voivodship. Its value equals over 4 mln PLN.
